FMP - Post 5- 26th February

Friday 26th February 2016

This week we only had Friday for our rehearsal as it was the end of term, we did a run thought of the whole play, we were missing people but we were able to over come that but the one problem that we had that we were facing a different direction so we throw as all off what we were meant to be. I find that I was always on the wrong side to way I need to be, I feel I was throw off the whole time. I always know that some sections I wasn’t there for so I find I was very behind on the movement piece.  When it came to the scene when I signing, I was really looking forward to this as I was confidence even after my rocky start at the beginning. I find doing this scene that the person reading in was going too fast so for me to sign so it became very difficult. This was one of my weakness for the whole morning.

I had my second lesson of signing for my other scene, which I was looking forward to this session as I didn’t have my session on Monday. My other scene is about benefits. I play the report who doesn’t really know all the fact so the experts keep jumping in with the right facts. I felt positive and confidence going to in the session, as I have come away positive from the other signing session. I felt that if I came feeling positive then I should go in feel positive and confidence going in.

I find that going though the session there was lots of changes to how script is laid out. So it now slit in to chucks of text as it makes more sense for the signers to say all of it. I am feeling better to have it given to me before the holidays. This is good as I have 2 weeks to really get a good base for my scenes. So when I go back to rehearsal I can work on my faces and how I carry my self on stage when signing.

I feel that as a group we have been developing slowly due to people not being there; I feel that as a group we haven’t had much input into the piece, and we have approached the piece warily. On the same negative note, we have taken a long time to develop the pieces for different sections. The piece has some strong sections though; when we were asked to develop something for it, the way we have approached it has been cautious, as we wanted to make it good straight away, instead of diving in and exploring different ideas.

The signing strategy is focused on building up signing for each scene and each character as it is directed, instead of having one way of signing throughout the play. Now that I know the signs, I find it much easier to transfer from one character to the other and develop my character to suit the scene.
